The anonymous plaintiff who accused comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears of grooming and molesting her and her younger brother as children as part of sexually charged comedy skits has dropped her lawsuit.
Per a notice of dismissal shared with BuzzFeed News by Haddish’s attorneys, the plaintiff asked a federal judge in the US District Court for Central California on Tuesday to dismiss her lawsuit with prejudice, which means it cannot be filed again.
The plaintiff, named in the lawsuit only as Jane Doe, released a statement to TMZ and Deadline stating that she and her family have “known Tiffany Haddish for many years, and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us.
“We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can put this all behind us,” said the plaintiff, who did not mention comedian Spears in her statement.
In the original lawsuit filed at the end of August, the two anonymous plaintiffs accused the comedians of recruiting them to perform indecent acts of sexual nature for comedy sketches that were filmed in 2013 and 2014.
The plaintiffs, the children of one of Haddish’s former friends, were 7 and 14 years old, respectively, at the time of the alleged incidents, according to the original lawsuit.
The original complaint against Haddish and Spears accused them of intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence, negligent supervision, breach of fiduciary duty, constructive fraud, sexual battery, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse of a minor.
When the lawsuit was filed a few weeks ago, Haddish’s attorney Andrew Brettler denied the allegations in a statement sent to BuzzFeed News:
Plaintiff’s mother… has been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years. Every attorney who has initially taken on her case — and there were several — ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, [the mother] has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.
(BuzzFeed News did not publish the name of the mother to protect the privacy of the plaintiffs.)
The original complaint stated that Haddish took Jane Doe, then 14, to a Hollywood studio to film a “sexually suggestive” video. The minor was asked by the comedians to watch a video featuring a group of women eating a sandwich and “moaning and making sexual noises as they both ate the sandwich in a manner that simulated the act of fellatio,” the suit said.
The plaintiff alleged that Spears then told Jane Doe that he wanted her to mimic what she had seen on the screen, “including the noises precisely like what she had heard throughout the video.” Haddish then allegedly showed Jane Doe how to give fellatio “including movements, noises, moaning and groaning.”
The plaintiff said that Haddish paid her $100 and sent her home.
A year later, in 2014, Haddish reached out to the mother about filming another video, this time with her 7-year-old son, John Doe. The video was a comedy sketch titled, “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes.”
The lawsuit alleged John was stripped “down to his underwear” and that the video shows Spears “lusting over the 7-year-old child and molesting him throughout the video.” The plaintiffs also alleged that Haddish was present during the filming of the video.
After the lawsuit was filed, Haddish herself responded on Instagram, stating that she regretted being part of the videos.
“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now,” Haddish said. “But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all — and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.”

Khloé And Tristan Were Secretly Engaged When His Paternity Scandal Broke And They Spent Most Of Last Year Dropping Hints About It
Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s on-again, off-again relationship has been rocky over the years, but everything we’ve learned in recent months is arguably the worst of it all.
After tons of infidelity scandals, breakups, and eventual reunions since they began dating in 2016, Khloé and Tristan — who share a 4-year-old daughter named True — gave things another shot last year as they rekindled their romance once more.
However, just months later, news broke that Tristan had not only cheated on Khloé again, but had also secretly fathered a child outside of their relationship.
Maralee Nichols, mother of Tristan’s now-9-month-old baby boy, Theo, became pregnant on his 30th birthday in March 2021 — the same night that Khloé had thrown him a lavish birthday party and shared a gushing Instagram post about him.
Tristan denied the child was his when Maralee initially sued him for various child-related expenses in December, but ultimately conceded that he was the father when a DNA test proved his paternity.
What’s more, Tristan didn’t tell Khloé about the pregnancy before the news was made public, leaving her to find out with the “rest of the world” when legal documents from the court case were leaked online. Her raw reaction was documented in her family’s Hulu reality series, The Kardashians.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, we later learned that Khloé and Tristan had actually been preparing to welcome a child of their own via surrogate at this very time.
Their baby boy was born in July this year, and The Kardashians has since revealed that Tristan was actually encouraging Khloé to go ahead with their surrogacy plans despite being aware that Maralee was pregnant.
But just when we thought we’d heard the worst of it, Khloé made another shocking revelation about their relationship in the latest episode of the Hulu show, which aired this week.
While speaking about Tristan’s paternity scandal with her sister, Kim, in a scene filmed in the early months of this year, Khloé ended up revealing that the NBA player had actually proposed to her.
“I mean, the fact that he proposed and you never told us,” Kim tells Khloé as the two discuss how unhealthy the relationship was. A producer then asks Khloé during a confessional, “Tristan proposed to you?” In response, she confirms: “Yeah.”
Kim goes on to divulge more about Tristan’s proposal plans in a confessional of her own. “I’ll never forget Tristan calling me, and he was gonna propose to her on Valentine’s Day, which was like a year since they had drama. So this was last Valentine’s Day,” she says.
“And then I called him the day after, and I was like, ‘Hey, I never heard anything from Khloé, oh my God, did you propose?’” she recalls. “And he was like, ‘Oh yeah, I did in December.’”
Khloé then says that she actually turned Tristan down, explaining that she needed to make sure she was comfortable and happy in the relationship before accepting a proposal from him.
“I said, ‘I need to make sure that this is a totally different relationship because I wanna be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone,’” she recalls. “And that’s why I said, ‘I’m not comfortable accepting this right now, because I’m not excited to tell my family.’”
“As hurtful as that probably was for him to hear, it was the truth,” she adds. “I’m not ever gonna accept something and give someone false hope. And I said that to him.”
While Kim’s comments appear to suggest that Tristan proposed in December 2020, sources with insider knowledge told BuzzFeed News that the athlete actually proposed to Khloé in December 2019.
The sources said that while Khloé did not accept Tristan’s proposal in 2019, the pair ended up discussing things again in February 2021, and ultimately did get engaged.
The insiders added that Khloé and Tristan were engaged until she found out about his paternity scandal in December 2021.
And while Khloé and Tristan never publicly announced the news of their engagement, the pair dropped several hints about their status over the following months.
First of all, in Season 1 of The Kardashians — which was filmed in the latter months of last year — Khloé memorably said marriage was the “end goal” with Tristan after revealing that the NBA player had discussed the subject with not just her, but her mom, Kris Jenner, several times.
“All Tristan talks to me about sometimes is getting married,” Kris told Khloé while the two were out for lunch in Episode 9. “He’s always talking about how much he wants to regain that trust that he knows that he lost.”
“Yeah, he talks about it all the time,” Khloé agreed, before elaborating in a confessional: “I’m not with Tristan to just float around with Tristan. I mean, marriage is the end goal.”
What’s more, in Episode 7, Tristan told Khloé that she was “never leaving” him as the pair discussed their future as a couple. “Blood in, blood out… We’re family for life,” he said, to which she agreed: “I think either way it goes, we’re family if you like it or not.”
But undoubtedly the most pointed hint that Khloé dropped was the huge diamond ring she began sporting in February 2021 — the very month that she and Tristan had gotten engaged.
Rumors that Tristan had popped the big question reached an all-time high that month, after Khloé shared several photos rocking the ring on her left finger all over Instagram.
She continued to post photos with the ring on in March too, and notably wore it at Tristan’s 30th birthday party that month.
And in April, Tristan left an eyebrow-raising comment under a picture she shared that was entirely focused on the ring.
Khloé never addressed the floods of Instagram comments about her and Tristan’s relationship status in response to the ring. However, her mom, Kris, fueled the speculation further after she made a cryptic remark about the potential engagement during an appearance on The Ellen Show that same month.
When asked about Khloé’s ring and the ongoing speculation, Kris neither confirmed nor denied that the star was engaged, instead saying: “That’s a good ring. I think she just loves jewelry. She loves a good, you know, ring!”
She then seemingly deflected things altogether as she told host Ellen DeGeneres, “You should ask Khloe [about it].”
Fast forward to the end of the year, and — if all else hadn’t — Tristan’s court battle with Maralee seemingly confirmed that he and Khloé had actually been engaged.
According to legal documents obtained by multiple outlets, Tristan told Maralee that he and Khloé would be “married soon” as he attempted to encourage her to get an abortion. He also purportedly referred to the reality star as his fiancée and said that they were planning on publicly announcing the news of their engagement.
“I’m engaged but I will be married soon,” he allegedly wrote in messages to Maralee. “I told you I won’t and can’t be in the child life at all by no means … Why not wait till yoj find the right person to have a family with… Why would you want a baby with a man that’s engaged. You wanna keep a mistake.”
“Just a heads up me and my fiancè gonna announce publicly about out marriage,” he added, according to the filings. “Just a heads up. We probably moving out the country in September and live either in Europe or Caribbean. Better living for us and our family away from the bs of America.” Tristan never publicly confirmed whether or not the messages were legitimate.
You can watch the latest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, or Disney+ internationally, now. The next episode will be released on October 5.

It’s Official: Wife Guys Are Out
Fulmer has since confirmed on Twitter that he had a “consensual workplace relationship,” adding, “I’m sorry for any pain that my actions might have caused to the guys and the fans but most of all Ariel.” The remaining Guys released a statement earlier in the day announcing that Fulmer would no longer be working with them: “As a result of a thorough internal review, we do not see a path forward together.” Ariel Fulmer released a statement at the same time. “Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family,” she wrote, “and all we request right now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
The alleged Udoka affair seems like a different beast altogether — he’s not a Wife Guy, or at least not yet — but what Levine and Fulmer have in common is the fact that they were (and are, for now at least) notorious Wife Guys. If you’re unfamiliar with a Wife Guy, you’re living a blessed life and I am jealous.
A Wife Guy is a man whose fame or branding is largely predicated on the fact that he’s in love with the woman he married. There have been several Wife Guys in history: Ina Garten’s husband, Jeffrey, John Legend, Ryan Reynolds, Curvy Wife Guy, John Mulaney (before, well, you know). Wife Guys aren’t just men who are married, they’re men who won’t shut up about how married they are. Their wives aren’t mere mortals, they’re goddesses who grace their husbands with vague tolerance of their middling failures and insufficiency. Wife Guys are so grateful to have wives — have always being the operative word.
Wife Guys write Instagram captions on their anniversaries about “another tour around the sun with this one.” Their Twitter bios list them as husbands and fathers and nothing much else. (Fulmer’s Instagram bio indeed still describes him as “@arielmfulmer’s husband.”) The wives of Wife Guys, meanwhile, stop having identities of their own postnuptials; in quick order, they are referred to almost exclusively as “my wife.” To be a Wife Guy is to put your wife on a pedestal so preposterously high that she stops being a person altogether.
Anecdotally, it seems to always be the worst Wife Guys who stray. It’s all a little lady-doth-protest-too-much, isn’t it? Adam Levine famously put his wife and child in the music video for Maroon 5’s 2018 song “Girls Like You.” Now he’s been accused of asking the woman he allegedly cheated with if he could name his unborn child after her.
Fulmer is an exemplary Wife Guy because he monetized it so well. The Try Guys started their own production company, 2nd Try LLC. And as their audience has grown up, so have the guys. In early videos, they wore labor pain simulators and tried out acrylic nails for a day. Now they’re married and having children of their own, which eventually begat the Try Wives. Ariel Fulmer isn’t just Ned Fulmer’s wife but a part of the business. Last year, the couple published The Date Night Cookbook, full of photos of them feeding each other croutons. (The chocolate cake decorated with “I’m sorry” certainly seems apt now, Ned. Let me know if it works.)
Ariel is an interior designer, but her income and public persona are inextricably tied to her husband. And what is her husband without his wife? What is a Wife Guy when he ruins his relationship with the wife in question?

Gisele Bündchen Skipped Tom Brady’s First Home Game Of The Season Amid Reports That They’ve Been Living Apart
As speculation about the state of Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s marriage continues to swirl online, the supermodel was notably absent from her husband’s first home game of the NFL season.
On Sunday, Tom’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the Green Bay Packers at the Raymond James Stadium in Florida.
To mark the home opener, the quarterback’s three kids were in attendance to cheer him on as he made his way onto the field.
In a sweet video shared to Twitter, Tom could be seen embracing 12-year-old Benjamin and 9-year-old Vivian, whom he shares with Gisele, along with his 15-year-old son, John, who is the product of a previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
And though the game seemed to be quite the family affair, it was evident that Gisele had opted to stay home, with reports suggesting that the kids were instead accompanied by Tom’s mom and sister.
Noting her absence, People cited an insider who said that Gisele “continues to be dedicated to her kids and is working on personal projects.”
If you’ve been following Tom and Gisele in recent months, you’ll know this comes after reports of a rift between the two, perhaps stemming from his shocking decision to unretire from football — just 40 days after announcing his retirement on Feb. 1.
As well as her absence at the home game in Florida, Gisele was also noticeably missing in the crowd at Tom’s first game of the 2022-2023 season on Sept. 12, prompting claims from insiders that the couple — who’ve been married for 13 years — have been living apart for “more than a month.”
“Gisele is busy with her own life now, and has spent time away from Tom in Miami and New York,” claimed one source, who was backed up by another who added that the pair “live separate lives” during the football season.
Prior to this, Tom had already hinted that he was battling some “personal stuff” behind the scenes.
In August, he accounted for an 11-day absence from a training camp that month by telling reporters at the time: “I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of shit going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can.” However, it’s important to note that whether his time off was linked to his marriage remains unclear.
Nonetheless, this certainly isn’t the first occasion that the longstanding couple have been rocked by marital issues relating to Tom’s demanding football career. In fact, both Tom and Gisele have discussed the matter quite candidly, with the latter having opened up about her husband’s return to the NFL as recently as this month.
“Obviously, I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” the former Victoria’s Secret model told Elle magazine in a wide-ranging interview conducted late this summer.
She added: “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
She previously broached the subject in May this year too, giving British Vogue some rare insight into how Tom’s unretirement affected their kids’ lives as well as her own.
“When my husband decided he was going to play another year, I didn’t want to put [the children] in a school, because it takes a lot to adapt to a new town,” she said, referencing the fact that the family had to relocate from Boston — where they’d been based for nearly 20 years — to Florida when Tom signed with the Bucs in 2020.
“They left all their friends in Boston — and just look at what the world was going through,” she added.
Talking in more detail about her husband’s lifestyle, Gisele revealed that she takes on the bulk of parenting duties while Tom is on the road.
“I don’t think relationships just happen; it’s never the fairy tale people want to believe it is,” she explained. “His focus is on his career, mine is mostly on the kids. And I’m very grateful that he lets me take the reins when it comes to our family. He trusts my decisions.”
Elsewhere, Tom has been equally as honest about the difficulties in their marriage, even telling Howard Stern in 2020 that Gisele once wrote him a “heartfelt” letter to express that she felt he wasn’t “doing [his] part for the family.”
“She felt like I would play football all season, and she would take care of the house. And then all of a sudden, a season would end, and I’d be like, ‘Great, let me get into all my other business activities. Let me get into my football training.’ And she’s sitting there going, ‘Well, when are you going to do things for the house? When are you going to take kids to school and do that?’” he explained, stating at the time that this had been “a couple years ago.”
“You can get caught up in your life where you think a relationship is great because it only works for you,” the NFL star reflected. “The point of a relationship, it has to work for both. You better work on both because if you don’t, ultimately, it’s not sustainable.”
But, in spite of the recent murmurs of a fallout, insiders have been quick to reassure that the chances of a split are still pretty slim.
“They both want to live in Miami, they love it, and have loads of friends there,” a source told People earlier this month. “I don’t think there is any formal separation at this point, they would like to work things out.”
