Mayim Bialik, Ken Jennings Will Continue as ‘Jeopardy!’ Hosts

A true Daily Double! Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue sharing Jeopardy! hosting duties.

Variety reported on Monday, July 25, that Sony Pictures Entertainment drew up long-term deals that will keep the duo, who began splitting time as hosts in September 2021, locked into the shared role. According to Entertainment Weekly, however, nothing has been officially signed yet.

The beloved game show has spent close to two years searching for the perfect host following Alex Trebek’s death in November 2020. Many stars — including LeVar Burton, Aaron Rodgers, Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper and more — have spent time as guest hosts. Former Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards was initially set to be the new permanent host until he stepped down in August 2021 after controversial comments he made resurfaced.

Last month, executive producer Mike Davies told Variety that the franchise is planning “more versions” of the show — which means “multiple hosts.”

“With all of our plans for Jeopardy! — which is more Jeopardy!, not less, more versions — we’re going to need multiple hosts to represent the entire audience, to represent the entire country, in order to take this franchise forward,” he said at the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards.

One of those iterations is Celebrity Jeopardy!, which is set to premiere in the fall and will be hosted by Bialik, 46. The Big Bang Theory alum certainly has her hands full this television season as season 3 of her hit show Call Me Kat will also air in September.

With such intense exposure, however, comes criticism — which the Blossom alum has received in droves since her time as interim Jeopardy! host. In addition to being called an “anti-vaxxer” and “anti-feminist” — terms the actress called particularly “hurtful because they’re untrue,” she told Glamour in September 2021 — viewers have also taken issue with certain phrases she uses on the show, including calling the first round “Single Jeopardy” instead of just “Jeopardy.”

“People care a lot, I get it!” Bialik told Yahoo! earlier this year. “And I’m sorry. I’m doing my best!” Though she defended her use of “Single Jeopardy” — Trebek himself used it on occasion — she promised fans she’d stop saying it. “I will never do it again! Even if it’s in this script, I will not say it,” she declared.

For his part, Jennings — whose own winning streak on Jeopardy! scored him the most consecutive wins with 72 — took a leave of absence from his hosting duties in May, telling fans via Twitter that he was “handing the keys back” to Bialik “for a few months,” noting that he would “be back before the end of the season.”

 —

The music of the night will continue for eight weeks longer than expected.

The Broadway musical “The Phantom of the Opera” announced in September that it would be closing in February because of declining ticket sales, but plans have changed.

On Tuesday, the show’s producer, Cameron Mackintosh, announced the show will now run until April 16.

An unexpected bolster in sales, as well as a busy Thanksgiving week, helped the longest-running show in Broadway history earn $2.2 million in sales last week, according to The New York Times.

“What a phenomenal response there has been to the show ending,” Mackintosh told the Times. “We’ve sold out virtually everything that we have on sale.”

The musical will celebrate its 35th anniversary in January.

With music by famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, “Phantom” features a masked music lover who haunts the Paris Opera House.

The Broadway show is directed by Hal Prince. In 1988, the show won seven Tony Awards.

Leni Klum, 18, got a lot of attention for her latest sexy Instagram post. The daughter of Heidi Klum, 49, posed in a red bra and matching underwear as she sat on top of a bathroom sink, in the new eye-catching photo, which served as an ad for the lingerie company Intimissimi. She also had her hair down and was brushing her teeth with a toothbrush as she looked at the camera with a slight smile.

“night time routine in the new intimissimi christmas lingerie pieces available and OUT NOW online and in all intimissimi stores! @intimissimiofficial,” Leni captioned the post. Her followers were quick to compliment her shortly after she published the photo. “She is so beautiful,” one follower wrote while another simply but effectively wrote, “Wow.”

Before Leni posted her newest photo, she made headlines for appearing in a lingerie campaign alongside her model mom. After she received some negative criticism from online users, who called some of the photos “disturbing” and “weird,” the young beauty defended herself while walking the red carpet of walking the red carpet at Heidi’s annual Halloween party on October 31.

“I honestly didn’t look at a lot of the reactions,” she said in an interview at the event. “I am overall happy with the campaign and I had an amazing day with my mom. I think the photos turned out great, and we had an amazing time. I just don’t look at it, honestly. If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there.”

In the controversial campaign, which was also for Intimissimi, the mother and daughter were seen posing in various bras and underwear and also danced to Italian classical music, in a video that went along with the photos. Howard Stern also criticized the photos and video on an episode of his SiriusXM show. “I looked at it and I thought, ‘This is so f—king’ out of line. It is so inappropriate. But you can’t stop looking at it,” he said on the air. “It looks like a guy’s fantasy. They’re kissing and they’re holding each other. And they’re frolicking.”

Despite the negative opinions, Leni continued to praise her mom and revealed she’s grateful to have had the opportunity. “I love her. She’s an inspiration. Just the advice she gives me, the way she works, everything about her, I can go on and on,” she said. “I love shooting with her.”
