Nia Long is focusing on her children in the midst of a scandal involving one of their fathers. The Boyz N the Hood star, 51, broke her silence on Friday (September 23) after her fiancé, Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, with whom she shares a 10-year-old son, was put on a year suspension for an alleged consensual relationship with a female staffer on the NBA team.

“The outpouring love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me,” Nia said in the statement to HollywoodLife. “I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children.”

Ime also released his own statement, telling ESPN, “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”

As the family takes the time to heal during the trying time, let’s take a closer look at Nia’s son with Ime, and her other child she shares with an ex, below.

Massai Dorsey II

Nia met actor Massai Dorsey on the set of her NBC crime drama Third Watch, which ran from 1999 to 2005. The two began dating and welcomed son Massai Dorsey II on November 26, 2000. At one point the new parents were engaged, but ultimately went their separate ways shortly after the birth.

Their son would end up following his own path away from Hollywood and playing baseball in college for Eastern Kentucky University. Although he may not have followed in his mother’s footsteps, Nia can’t help but gush with pride over her firstborn whenever she gets the chance on social media.

“And one day he became a man responsible for his self proclaimed journey and beautiful mind,” she wrote on Instagram in 2020 alongside a photograph of Massai in a boxing ring. “I now stand back and give him the room to create greatness. @massaidorsey mommy loves you.”

Kez Sunday Udoka

In 2010, Nia revealed she was dating former basketball star Ime. Two years later, the couple got a huge surprise: they were pregnant! Nia, who was 40 at the time, discovered she was with child during a routine visit to the doctor! When they welcomed Kez Sunday Udoka in November on 2010, the couple shared the news to the world. “Words can’t explain how thrilled we are by the new addition to our family,” Nia and Ime said in the statement. “We feel truly blessed and appreciate all the well wishes and prayers.”

On Mother’s Day 2021, Nia took to her Instagram to share the most touching tribute to her adorable baby boy. “My #2. Thank you for slowing me down,” she wrote alongside a sweet photo of the pair. “Your birth was long and difficult. I asked you why….you said you felt safe and warm and didn’t want to leave my womb. Bless the women who have become mothers by any means necessary. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY”

CNN
 —

The music of the night will continue for eight weeks longer than expected.

The Broadway musical “The Phantom of the Opera” announced in September that it would be closing in February because of declining ticket sales, but plans have changed.

On Tuesday, the show’s producer, Cameron Mackintosh, announced the show will now run until April 16.

An unexpected bolster in sales, as well as a busy Thanksgiving week, helped the longest-running show in Broadway history earn $2.2 million in sales last week, according to The New York Times.

“What a phenomenal response there has been to the show ending,” Mackintosh told the Times. “We’ve sold out virtually everything that we have on sale.”

The musical will celebrate its 35th anniversary in January.

With music by famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, “Phantom” features a masked music lover who haunts the Paris Opera House.

The Broadway show is directed by Hal Prince. In 1988, the show won seven Tony Awards.

Leni Klum, 18, got a lot of attention for her latest sexy Instagram post. The daughter of Heidi Klum, 49, posed in a red bra and matching underwear as she sat on top of a bathroom sink, in the new eye-catching photo, which served as an ad for the lingerie company Intimissimi. She also had her hair down and was brushing her teeth with a toothbrush as she looked at the camera with a slight smile.

“night time routine in the new intimissimi christmas lingerie pieces available and OUT NOW online and in all intimissimi stores! @intimissimiofficial,” Leni captioned the post. Her followers were quick to compliment her shortly after she published the photo. “She is so beautiful,” one follower wrote while another simply but effectively wrote, “Wow.”

Before Leni posted her newest photo, she made headlines for appearing in a lingerie campaign alongside her model mom. After she received some negative criticism from online users, who called some of the photos “disturbing” and “weird,” the young beauty defended herself while walking the red carpet of walking the red carpet at Heidi’s annual Halloween party on October 31.

“I honestly didn’t look at a lot of the reactions,” she said in an interview at the event. “I am overall happy with the campaign and I had an amazing day with my mom. I think the photos turned out great, and we had an amazing time. I just don’t look at it, honestly. If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there.”

In the controversial campaign, which was also for Intimissimi, the mother and daughter were seen posing in various bras and underwear and also danced to Italian classical music, in a video that went along with the photos. Howard Stern also criticized the photos and video on an episode of his SiriusXM show. “I looked at it and I thought, ‘This is so f—king’ out of line. It is so inappropriate. But you can’t stop looking at it,” he said on the air. “It looks like a guy’s fantasy. They’re kissing and they’re holding each other. And they’re frolicking.”

Despite the negative opinions, Leni continued to praise her mom and revealed she’s grateful to have had the opportunity. “I love her. She’s an inspiration. Just the advice she gives me, the way she works, everything about her, I can go on and on,” she said. “I love shooting with her.”
