Nolan Neal, ‘The Voice’ and ‘America’s Got Talent’ contestant, dead at 41

Published

He was 41.

The Nashville native appeared as a contestant on Season 10 of “The Voice” in 2016 and the show paid tribute to Neal on social media.

“We are heartbroken by the passing of Nolan Neal,” the tweet reads. “His incredible talent will always be remembered. Our sincerest sympathy goes out to his family and friends during this time.”

Neal, who performed the Elton John classic “Tiny Dancer,” got all four coaches to turn their chairs and received a standing ovation from them.

Adam Levine picked Neal for his team and the singer made it to the knockout round.

Neal auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” in 2020 and shared his story of losing his dad to suicide, partying hard after receiving a record deal and ultimately spiraling out of control.

He said during his audition that the song he was performing, titled “Lost,” was the first thing he had written when he got out of treatment for substance abuse.

“It’s the first song I wrote sober,” Neal said at the time. “The hook of the song is ‘Lost for the last time.’ It’s about somebody he thinks they don’t deserve anything because of the things they’ve done. I hope it connects with you all. That’ll be the real win for me.”
His cousin Dylan Seals told TMZ Neal was found dead in his Nashville apartment. No cause of death has been released.
Neal posted on his verified Facebook page that he had been scheduled to play this coming Sunday at Hotel Indigo in Nashville, but that the show had been canceled for reasons he did not cite.

CNN has reached out to the Medical Examiner’s office in Nashville for comment.

Tommy Lee’s nude photo sparks accusations of double standards

Published

on

The heavily tattooed Mötley Crüe drummer shared a full-frontal selfie on Instagram and Facebook on Thursday, with the caption “Ooooopppsss.”

Instagram and Facebook took it down within hours for violating nudity rules, a Meta spokesperson told CNN. It sparked a debate on social media — with critics accusing the platform of delaying its removal and double standards.

“So Tommy Lee can post a picture of his penis on @instagram that’s still up three hours later but a picture of my curvy booty in a thong bikini gets taken down? Cool, cool,” journalist Lola Méndez tweeted. She compared seeing Lee’s nude picture on social media to getting an unsolicited picture of a penis.

Others cited the photo as an example of the misogyny women face, saying some of Britney Spears’ revealing posts were widely criticized while Lee’s image mostly received praise.

“Make it make sense. The double standard is so apparent,” one user posted. “2022 and we have to witness Tommy Lee being praised for posting a frontal nude while Britney Spears is constantly momshamed for posting sexy pics,” another one added.
Lee is the latest in a slew of celebrities who’ve had their photos removed from the platform. Instagram suspended Rihanna’s account after the singer posted a topless photo of herself on the cover of Lui magazine. Photos posted by Chelsea Handler, Scout Willis, Miley Cyrus and non-binary model Rain Dove have also been removed from the platform.

Instagram explicitly states that it does not allow nude photos.

“This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks,” it says on its website. “It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos in the context of breastfeeding, birth giving and after-birth moments, health-related situations or an act of protest are allowed.”

In recent years, artists and activists have launched the “Free the nipple” campaign to demand that Instagram stop censoring photos.

This is not the first time Lee has made headlines for something other than his music. In the 1990s, the rocker’s stolen sex tape with his then wife Pamela Anderson became such a defining moment in pop culture, Hulu released a series on the viral sex tape this year.

Lee has not responded to the Instagram controversy but posted an additional photo with a sexual theme after his nude. Some commenters questioned why he posted a new image while others told him to go to sleep.

Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker are turning up the heat on their red-hot romance! The POOSH founder took to her Instagram on Friday, August 12 to share a set of sassy snaps of the couple getting quite cozy during a drum practice session for the Blick-182 musician. Rocking a white cut-out top and ripped denim, Kourt straddled Travis as he prepared to rock out on his percussion instrument. She coyly captioned the photo album, “Time for drum practice.”

And to prove he can mix his personal life with his professional one, Travis shared a video to his own Instagram where he looks like a whiz on the drum set while packing on the PDA with his gorgeous wife sitting on his lap! Kourt is all smiles as she keeps her arms wrapped around Travis’ neck and keeps smooching his lips with her own. It is quite the feat! Check it out below!

Meanwhile, Kourtney had to get in a more serious mode recently when she called out the person who made fake social media accounts pretending to be her son Mason Disick. Kourt set the record straight after she unsuccessfully hoped it was obvious that the phony posts were not coming from the 12-year-old boy she shares with her ex Scott Disick.

“After months and months of thinking you would all know that is NOT Mason on these fake accounts, some of you don’t,” she wrote. “So I will spell it out clearly: that is NOT Mason on these fake social media accounts talking about our family.” Kourt then went on to ask news outlets to stop using the fake accounts as a source. Before she signed off, the Good American founder added, “And to the person relentlessly pretending to be Mason, ultra ultra ultra creepy.” Ouch!

The backlash from the reality star comes a day after a social media account claiming to be authored by Mason shared a series of posts alleging Kourtney’s younger sister, Kylie Jenner, was planning on walking down the aisle with her baby daddy Travis Scott. The phony account also suggested Kylie was the main attraction at a bridal party. It’s obvious why Kourtney wanted to quickly shut down any notion that her offspring was involved with such gossip.

However, Mason did have his own Instagram account back in 2020, but that was also quickly canceled by protective mama bear Kourt. “He started an Instagram yesterday and didn’t ask us,” Kourt explained in March 2020. “I did delete it because Scott and I just felt like… He’s 10! I think, on Instagram, the thing that really worries me is the comments. People can be so mean.”

As kids do, Mason hilariously found a way to get back on social media at the time by starting up a TikTok Q&A. One fan asked what happened to his original TikTok account, and he explained that it “got deleted because [he] was ‘too young.’”
