Warning: This article contains spoilers for Teen Wolf season 6.
Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey has revealed the ways his character Scott has changed between the original series and the upcoming film. MTV’s Teen Wolf, which was a gritty re-imagining of the 1984 comedy of the same name starring Michael J. Fox, ran for 6 seasons and 100 episodes in total between 2011 and 2017. Earlier this year, it was announced the property would return with a Teen Wolf movie, which will debut on Paramount+ in 2022 and lead into a new spinoff series titled Wolf Pack. Although original stars Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho, and Cody Christian will not be returning, most of the series stars will reprise their roles in the film, including Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Shelley Hennig as Malia Tate, Linden Ashby as Noah Stilinski, Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore, Dylan Sprayberry as Liam Dunbar, and Ian Bohen as Peter Hale.
Posey’s character Scott McCall was the lead of the series, appearing in every episode, a distinction only shared by Roden. At the beginning of the show, Scott is a normal high school student in Beacon Hills, California, but he becomes a werewolf after being bitten by an alpha on the night before sophomore year begins. As he struggles to get a handle on his new condition, he learns that his town is infested with a plethora of dangerous supernatural menaces that he must protect his family and friends from. In the final season of Teen Wolf, Scott had to claw out his own eyes, and though they eventually grew back, they are now red.
Screen Rant was in attendance at the Teen Wolf panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, where Posey dropped some details about how Scott has changed following the show’s finale. The actor revealed that Scott has stepped away from his old life, moved to LA, and put his leadership role on the shelf. He’s still troubled by what happened in Beacon Hills and is now working at a veterinarian’s office while dealing with the complicated realities of being a human.
Posey continued, saying that in his new life, Scott is figuring out how to save himself rather than saving the world. This has led to him being a much more relaxed character, now that the pressure is off his shoulders. He teased that fans have never seen Scott like this throughout the entire run of the series.
Even though many things have changed for Scott, the events of the Teen Wolf movie will likely drag him straight back to Beacon Hills. For fans who want him to live a happy, peaceful life, this may not be terrific news. However, one can hope that, at the end of the film, he is able to return to the apparently more relaxing existence he has established for himself in L.A.
