Dream is on a journey to restore his kingdom in a new The Sandman trailer. Based on Neil Gaiman’s Vertigo comics of the same name, the story centers on Morpheus, the king of dreams and one of the seven Endless beings, who is summoned and trapped by the charlatan occultist, Sir Roderick Burgess. After over a century of imprisonment, Dream escapes and discovers his kingdom of the Dreaming is decaying and his artifacts of power spread across universes, requiring him to turn to his siblings and allies in the hopes of restoring his home.
Tom Sturridge is leading the ensemble cast of The Sandman in the titular role alongside Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park and David Thewlis. Neil Gaiman has developed the series with David S. Goyer, who was previously attached to adapt the source comics to film, and Wonder Woman‘s Allan Heinberg. After 30 years of development, The Sandman is gearing up to hit Netflix this summer and audiences are getting a new glimpse at what’s to come from the series.
As part of San Diego Comic-Con, Netflix has unveiled the a new The Sandman trailer. The video offers a deeper look at the long-awaited adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels and Dream’s quest to restore his kingdom of the Dreaming after being trapped for over a century and the fantastical worlds he visits for help.
